34 weeks and counting...

We are 34 weeks and less than 40 days from our due date. I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has flown by! I feel like Jeremiah must have had a growth spurt this week. I feel much bigger than last week. I am glad we don't have any more travel on the calendar.

We are preparing for the new addition to our family by cleaning out closets, cutting expenses and interviewing pediatricians. Well, we interviewed the one I had settled on by calling offices and asking friends. I had a back-up in mind if we didn't feel like this one was it. We met with Dr. Edmondson on Monday afternoon and we have determined he is who God has as Jeremiah's first doctor. Glad to have that choice out of the way. :)

God has been so good and faithful this entire pregnancy and we are excited to see what the next few weeks hold for us! Thank you for your prayers as we enter the last month of this pregnancy! We can't wait to meet our little man.

Our vacation in Asheville, NC

We had such a great trip. We chose Asheville because I have wanted to visit the Biltmore Estate for years and it was only a 5 hour drive. That sounded good to my pregnant body. The weather was great and we were able to enjoy the beauty of the mountains and all the incredible history that Asheville offers. We arrived late on Saturday afternoon and headed downtown for some dinner. Sunday we toured the farms and met the horses, chickens and goats of Biltmore. We toured the winery where Al did some wine tasting and I got to sample the grape juice. We walked through the gardens and outdoor areas of the estate until I couldn't walk anymore. I was thankful we determined to split our visit into 2 days in order to see it all without completely doing me in. The weather was nice, but being outside got hot fast. I loved swimming in our hotel's indoor pool. Being weightless felt incredible and Jeremiah seems to love me being in the water. On Monday we spent the morning touring the house. It was incredible. I love stories of people. I loved learning about the family who lived life in the 250 room estate. Monday night we headed back downtown for some dinner and enjoyed a cup of coffee after dinner in a double decker bus. It was recommended to us by our friends at Utopia here in Spring Hill. On Tuesday after some breakfast we headed to Gatlinburg to spend our last night of vacation. We did some shopping at the outlet malls and then spent a quiet evening in. When we returned on Wednesday we spent some time in Green Hills relaxing in Starbucks until our birthing class that evening. It was a full 5 days! It was a trip we will always remember and we are so thankful we got to do it before Jeremiah comes and to celebrate our 10th anniversary. It was such a fun weekend to reflect and rejoice on all God has done for us. Here are a few pictures from our trip!

I loved all the details on the outside of the house.
Whoa... when did I get so round!?
Standing under the grapes at the winery, I am enjoying one of the many cups of water Al made me drink each day.

Maternity Pictures

We are back from Asheville and I will post pictures and stories from our trip soon, but the pictures are on my other computer so in the meantime... my maternity pictures came in! Angelique was our photographer. Ang and I met when we were 12 and instantly determined we did not like each other. Something must have changed because we have been friends for 17 years now! She came to Tulsa for my baby shower and afterwards took some pictures for us. If you want a copy of any, let me know and I will send you the orignals to print. They may not pull off of here well. These are just a few of my favorites, there are many, many more!

10 Years of life, love and lots of laughs!

Today Al and I celebrate our 10th year of marriage. We bought and fixed up our first house together. Bought our first dog. Sold our first house. Moved to Tennessee. Lived in our first apartment. Found out what it was like to tour with a band, (Al, not me!) Met new people & made life-long friends all along the way. Bought cars, sold cars, bought a motorcycle, sold a motorcycle. Moved into our second apartment. Hosted a couple interns. Bought our second house. We have faced the struggles of infertility. Known the joy of seeing a positive on a pregnancy test and felt the heartbreak of losing two precious babies. We've said goodbye to loved ones and welcomed new life and new members into our family. Rejoiced and cry together to see our healthy boy in ultrasounds. It hasn't always been easy or carefree, but God has remained faithful. We are closer as a couple, closer to the Lord as individuals and we've conquered strong holds and broken down walls we never wanted to face.
Ten years ago I was marrying a man I thought I knew through and through. I thought I loved him more and knew how to love him better than anyone else ever could. I had no idea! I am thankful to say that the man I married 10 years ago is not the same man I am married to today and I am am confident he would say the same about me. Today's husband is stronger, bolder, more handsome and a better husband than I could have imagined. What a great 10 years!

I am so thankful for God's fulfillment of His promise made to us
about our 10th year including a baby boy, Jeremiah. We are going to celebrate
our anniversary with baby boy kicking away strong and healthy in my belly and for that, we are so thankful!

God is good and as much as I love my husband more today than I did this day in 1999 and as much as he loves me now, our relationship is only stronger and greater because of our love for our heavenly Father. One thing that Pastor Holder told us in our pre-marital counseling was, "Keep God the center of all you do. Question everything against His will for your family." Good words to live by, we haven't always hit the mark, but we have tried! Thank you to all who have poured into us over the years. We know there is more growing to be done and more that the Lord has to teach us and we are so excited to see what the next 10 years holds!

32 weeks, a spy party & unexpected blessings!

Lets start with the 32 weeks portion of the post. Time is flying by! The paper chain in my office is getting shorter and shorter! This little man will be here before we know it. We are so looking forward to meeting him, but there is that part of me that loves having him in my belly and I am not quite ready to have him yet. The house has been taken over with baby paraphernalia. Al's drum room is packed so full you can literally not walk in. The crib and changing table have yet to be assembled, they are in the garage and I haven't picked out our paint color yet. The next month or so will include preparing for this little guy. I know we can do it in a weekend though so we aren't rushing Olivia out of the nursery. We're praying for the perfect next host home for her. We will miss having her so much and I know she will be a blessing to her next host family.

Spy Party! We hosted a fabulous celebration for Carina's 30th birthday. God has blessed me with incredible friends and Carina is one of those. My family has adopted her and her men as part of our family. My dad refers to Chris as "The Legend". Other than the fact that Chris is an artist, I am not sure why Dad gave him that title. :) Carina has a not-so-secret desire to be a spy or detective when she grows up so we had a spy/detective themed party for her. It was so much fun! Some of us wore costumes while others came in "disguise" as themselves. We played some fun games and took some great pictures! I will post more when I have them. Lets just say, baby Lars with a mustache is a sight to see!

Now, unexpected blessings! Al and I were planning on purchasing our stroller/car seat combo. This was our only must have costly item that hadn't been gifted to us. The cost was $269.99. We were planning on waiting until July to make this purchase. Well, God had another plan! Last Friday night I had my laptop out and I was checking email before bed. I felt like I was supposed to look at Craig's List. I didn't have any reason to, just felt like I should look. So, I opened it to baby/kids items and there was a posting for a stroller/car seat combo from Graco for $100. The pictures were incredible and the price was even better! The posting said it was in perfect condition, well cared for in a smoke free, pet free home and it was right here in Spring Hill. I didn't email right away. I waited until I talked to Al in the morning and he said, Email them! So I did. The sweetest lady, Mary, called me back. She said they would be around and I was about to head out to meet Jeans and Trish at the pool anyway so I stopped by. I was greeted by Mary and I immediately knew she was a believer. Her spirit connected with mine immediately. I met her husband and he was the same way. They showed me the stroller and it was better than the pictures represented. It is only a year old and is in perfect condition with all the bells and whistles. Jeremiah and I can tell you the time and temperature when we are out walking. ha ha ha I said I wanted it and thanked them for the blessing. She told me that they had prayed over the stroller and asked the Lord to bring the perfect person who would be blessed by it. I love how the Lord works that way!

Birthing class was fun again this week. It might make me a dork, but I am loving it! I love learning all that is going on in my body and with our boy. I am not to thrilled to hear about the coming pain! ha ha ha! I am paying close attention to the relaxation and breathing techniques and sweet Al has been practicing his massage on my pained lower back.

I will try and post some more spy party pics later! This one is blurry, but you get the idea. I love this one of me and Trish and of course Jeremiah at almost 32 weeks.

31 Weeks!

Our big adventure this week... we started birthing classes! It seems like it is going to be a really fun class. This first week was just kind of an introduction and get to know everyone time. Our teacher's name is Jill and she was a crack up. She made it fun for everyone there. There are about 12 couples in our class with a pretty even split of those expecting boys vs. girls. Next week is our first labor video. Pray for Al! ;)

30 weeks, a trip to Tulsa and a baby shower!

I am a week behind, but now I have some pictures to post from our trip to Tulsa! We had an excellent trip and my shower was incredible. The girls did a great job and there were a ton of people there that I hadn't seen in ages. Some even since moving to Nashville! Thank you to all who came, it was a very special day to celebrate God's fulfilled promise to us. It was great to share more of our testimony and thank so many for believing and praying for us over the years. The drum room has turned into baby central until we have Jeremiah's room ready to unpack in. Mom finished Jeremiah's bedding and it turned out better than I could have imagined. I love it! I can't wait to set up the crib and see it all together.

Here are some pictures from our weekend!

I love how Kellee is looking at his Uncle Al in this picture. Al loved his video camera! It was a fun surprise.
